Material: Lightweight, one-sided vinyl (vinyl-coated cloth) Notions: Interfacing, cotton all-purpose thread, ¼" nylon boning, ¼" nickel-plated eyelets, ribbon or cording Time elapsed: About 9-12 hours accumulative Care: This particular material only needs to be cleaned with a dampened rag with mild soap, rinsed of any soap residue, and wiped completely dry. Cloth versions need to be hand-washed and hang-dried. DO NOT WRING! Pat excess water out with a towel and hang-dry. Comments: This isn't as difficult a piece to make as I'd originally thought. The construction is the easiest and fastest part. Most of the time spent is on cutting out pieces, spacing lines for boning pockets, spacing eyelets, and hand-sewing the bias trim. |

Dahlia
Violet Price: $20 (each) Notions : all-purpose cotton thread, snap tape Time elapsed: 3 hours (each) Care: Machine or hand-wash cold, hang dry and iron pleats as needed. Comments: I loved making these skirts! They're fun, flirty, and wonderfully bright colors. Can be worn with leggings or a cute pair of skivvies! They were the first articles of clothing I made without referrence to a pattern source. Not only this, but they are fully adjustable to fit about 30" to 40" hips. No...not waist, these are meant to sit on your hipbones! |
